Willy Wicaksono (a.k.a. Wicak) is a highly accomplished professional with over 19 years of experience in program management, policy development, and environmental governance, with a specialized focus on disaster risk management and climate change adaptation.He holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering and a Master’s in Disaster Management.

Throughout his career, Wicak has led complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives for organizations such as GTZ/GIZ, Mercy Corps, and DAI, often advising national bodies like Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB). His professional focus includes integrating nature-based solutions into local ecosystem-based adaptation strategies and enhancing national governance frameworks.

His collaboration with IRMA includes serving as a Disaster Preparedness and Response Data Analyst–synthesizing knowledge products for climate and resilience initiatives–and as a Field Associate for the evaluation of UNESCO’s disaster risk reduction program in Indonesia. Wicak is fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
