In 2016, the European Commission (EC) committed themselves to integrating the 2030 United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development into their policy across all sectors. As such, the EC has aimed to incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) deeply into their external action efforts and policy making.

The SDGs are a set of 17 goals aimed at improving global economic, environmental, and social conditions by 2030.

In 2021, Aide à la Décision Économique(ADE) was tasked with the evaluation of EU’s role in supporting progress towards the achievement of the SDGs through their external actions in DG INTPA and DG NEAR partner countries between 2016 and 2021.

As a part of this contract, IRMA’s Lezlie Morinière will lead an interdisciplinary team of experts from ADE, Data-Pop Alliance(DPA) from Harvard University, and the EU to develop comprehensive results-and process-oriented evaluation of the impact of EC’s integration of the SDG framework into their external action during the 6-year period of interest.
