Danielle is a multidisciplinary sustainability and resilience professional, with almost 20 years of experience in the fields of environmental management, climate change and disaster risk. Her interests include the circular economy, water-energy-food nexus, sustainable mobility, sustainable agriculture, and nature-based solutions. The Caribbean native has worked extensively across the islands with UN agencies and regional organisations, leading teams to support countries in designing policies and projects to advance their sustainable development objectives. She has also worked across countries in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
She earned her PhD in Natural Resource Management (University of the West Indies) with a focus on sustainable mobility transitions. She also holds an MSc in Natural Resource and Environmental Management (UWI) and BSc in Environmental Science (University of Southampton). She currently serves as the Vice President of the Barbados Red Cross Society and on the Technical Advisory Committee of the Barbados Environmental Sustainability Fund.
Her work with the IRMA team has included global and regional evaluations of organisational policies and multi-country programmes on energy, climate change and disaster management.
Danielle is fluent in English with good working knowledge of Spanish.
