Health Resilience Mapping Studies – Mali and Niger

MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience (MIHR), funded by USAID, works in fragile settings on voluntary family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) and maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH). A critical aspect of MIHR’s work is focused on strengthening health resilience.

Though the concept that has gained increased attention in the recent years, there is still a lack research and evidence on health resilience can be strengthened. In response to this gap, as the health resilience lead for the MIHR consortium, GOAL commissioned IRMA consultants to apply a USAID resilience perspective on MIHR activities, examining how MIHR activities can contribute to building health resilience in two of MIHR’s most complex operating environments, Mali and Niger. The mapping also explores strengths and challenges experienced by MIHR and key stakeholders while also identifying critical gaps and recommendations to improve programming moving forwards.

IRMA’s team for this assignment was Hannah Vaughan-Lee and Agathe Mazars.
