Lezlie was commissioned by PREPARED Project (Tetratech/USAID) to help the Lake Victoria Basin Commission (and East African Community) design the Community Climate Change Adaptation Assessment (C3A2). This toolkit intends to help researchers and practitioners capture the voices of communities in areas considered climate-affected. It features eight instruments to guide data collection in a community over 3-4 days, with instructions and MS Excel-based tools for collection, triangulation, analysis and conclusions. The C3A2 design is grounded in a mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) approach, participatory action research, complexity theory, and the analytical frameworks of integrated risk management (IRM) and climate risk as defined by the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change’s (IPCC) 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
